Babies 6-12 months of age have some of the highest nutrient needs they will ever have! In this section we will cover what nutrients are particularly important for infants, as well as what foods they can be found in, and tips for improving absorption. Having this knowledge in the back of your mind will help provide the foundation for creating truly nourishing meals for your baby.

Baby Led Weaning or Purees: Which is Better?
There is a current debate in the infant feeding world about whether purees or baby led weaning with finger foods is better. For us this conversation is less about which is “better” and more about teaching our babies independence and exposure to all textures. In this section you will learn the benefits to both styles of feeding and how to get started incorporating both into your baby’s diet.

Since babies have such high nutrient needs, it is really important to ensure that when we are feeding our babies that we are providing them with nutrient dense options. In this section we will cover some of the best first foods for babies starting solids, as well as food combinations and sample meal rotations that will ensure they are exposed to a wide variety of foods that will meet their specific nutrient needs.
Introducing Common Allergens
Introducing allergens can be one of the most anxiety producing parts of starting solids. But we also know that the research supports early and frequent introduction of the most common allergens to help prevent allergies, which is why we feel so passionate about giving parents the confidence they need to introduce allergens safely. In this section we will review the most common allergens, as well as which allergens we recommend beginning with first, and how to introduce them slowly and safely.
