Sustainable activewear brands don’t only encourage their customers to enjoy the outdoors, they also put their money into creating products that work to protect it. If you are looking to bring more sustainable activewear pieces into your wardrobe this Fall look no further than the following cozy favorites we are currently loving.
I think moms everywhere can agree that activewear is the unofficial uniform of mom life — regardless of whether you are actually working out in it or not. These days there are luckily so many sustainable activewear brands who are making really cute and comfortable pieces that are perfect for busy moms. When you are chasing after an active baby or toddler comfort is key, but I know that I still want to feel cute in what I’m wearing, even if it’s just to run errands or work from home.

What To Look For In Sustainable Activewear?
There are a lot of brands today claiming to have sustainable practices, but not all are created equal. While I think some effort, even if it is coming from a fast fashion brand, is a step in the right direction, there are other brands whose entire ethos and product lines are rooted in sustainable practices, and those are the brands I like to support most.
Sustainability is most often measured by one of three categories: social, environmental, and economic impact. So when it comes to choosing sustainable activewear I usually look for a company who is committed to making a positive impact in at least one of those areas. That could be in the form of:
- utilizing organic and recycled materials
- choosing more sustainable fabrics like linen, hemp, lyocell, bamboo, and modal
- investing in fair trade and equal opportunity for women
- economically supporting and fairly paying textile workers
- utilizing environmentally friendly plant dyes
- focusing on reducing plastic packaging
- has a carbon offset initiative or is working towards carbon neutrality as a business
So when it comes to investing in sustainable activewear, if you find a product or company that checks even a few of the above boxes, you can feel good knowing that your money is going towards a more sustainable fashion industry.
Outfit Details: Prana Escambia Half Zip, Electa Legging (with side pockets) this color is 50% off, Becksa Ribbed Tank, Layna Brami Bra (great for nursing moms!)
This year one of my favorite sustainable activewear brands, prana, has really upped their sustainable activewear looks with beautiful designs and the softest materials that I am pretty much living in. I also love that they are spearheading the movement towards 100% plastic free packaging, which means that not only their clothing, but their entire business model is approached with sustainability in mind.
The following are some of my favorite sustainable activewear pieces for fall that I have been loving and living in lately.
Cozy And Sustainable Activewear For Fall
BECKSA BRALETTE
I have been living in bralettes ever since I first got pregnant with my daughter and this bralette is one of my favorites. The soft ribbed fabric is so comfortable, and I love wearing it under pull overs or on it’s own with my Electa Legging for workouts.
POLAR ESCAPE HALF ZIP
I wore this jacket ALL THE TIME last fall and winter and I am so glad to see that Prana has brought it back. It is perfectly oversized, and so cozy you will never want to take it off.
KIMBLE PRINTED 7/8 LEGGING
I am not usually one for patterned leggings, but these are too cute to pass up! I love the color combinations for fall and think that they would pair perfectly with the Polar Escape Half Zip or Escambia Half Zip and a pair of blundstone boots.
ESLA VEST
This vest is perfect for cooler fall days and has that super soft polar fleece fabric on the inside and a beautiful quilted pattern on the outside making it the perfect vest to dress up or down for fall.
LAYNA BRAMI BRA (NURSING FRIENDLY)
This bra is the perfect mix between a crop top and a sports bra, and the best part (at least for any nursing mamas out there) is that it is 100% nursing friendly. It’s so comfortable that I have been wearing it even when I am not working out. It doesn’t have a ton of support so it may not be ideal for larger busts or high impact activities like running, but for cycling/yoga I love it! Runs large, I would size down.
ELECTA LEGGING (WITH SIDE POCKETS)
These are my favorite leggings at the moment. Super flattering with a high waist, side pockets, and the perfect amount of compression that I love for workouts, but is still comfortable for lounging in at the house.
PRANA ESCAMBIA HALF ZIP
I am living in this half zip right now during these slightly brisk early fall days. I love how soft it is and it is the perfect crop. I also love the ribbing and the zipper detail, which definitely elevates this pullover. I’ve worn. it with jeans and boots for a slightly more polished look, and with leggings and sneakers for a walk around town.
BECKSA RIBBED TANK
Made from the same soft ribbed fabric as the becksa bralette, this tank is my new favorite for workouts. It’s also perfect to layer under sweaters for fall.
